Discovering unique overnight RV stays while supporting small businesses along the way.

One question I get asked frequently is where I stay when traveling between destinations, especially when the journey takes several days.
As a full-time RVer, I don’t always need a campground for an overnight stop. Sometimes I simply need a convenient place to park, get a good night’s sleep, and continue my journey the next morning. But what if that overnight stop could become part of the adventure?
That’s what I love about the concept behind RVOvernights.
Instead of another ordinary stop along the highway, imagine spending the night at a family-owned winery, a working farm, a local brewery, or even a drive-in movie theater. It’s an opportunity to experience something different while supporting the small businesses that make America’s backroads so interesting.
What Is RVOvernights?
RVOvernights is a membership-based platform connecting RV travelers with businesses that welcome self-contained RVs for overnight stays.
The concept is simple. Participating businesses offer RV travelers a place to park overnight without a traditional camping fee. In return, travelers are encouraged to support their hosts by purchasing products, enjoying a meal, taking a tour, or participating in whatever experiences the business offers.

The network includes wineries, breweries, farms, distilleries, restaurants, golf courses, museums, animal rescues, and other interesting locations throughout the United States and Canada.
It’s a relationship that benefits everyone. RVers discover places they might otherwise drive right past, while small businesses gain customers they might never have reached.
Why I’m Drawn to RVOvernights
What particularly appeals to me about RVOvernights is the company behind the platform.
Founded by two RV enthusiasts and entrepreneurs, Rob Case and Kurt Nehlig, RVOvernights remains a founder-owned and operated business.
I’ve always appreciated entrepreneurs who build businesses around something they’re passionate about, especially when their success depends on supporting other small businesses.
RVOvernights launched in 2023 with approximately 100 host locations. By October 2026, its network had grown to more than 1,600 locations across the United States and Canada, and that network continues to grow.

It’s exciting to see an independently owned company gaining traction in an industry where larger corporate-owned membership networks have become increasingly prominent.
For me, choosing where to spend my travel dollars isn’t always about selecting the biggest company. Sometimes it’s about supporting businesses whose approach and values I appreciate.
The Experiences Make It Special
I’ve enjoyed this style of overnight RV travel for years, and some of my most memorable stops have been at places I might never have discovered otherwise.
I’ve stayed at wineries, golf courses, flight museums, churches, private parks, a goat farm, and a family horse ranch. One particularly interesting stop was a small family farm with goats, chickens, pigs, and a garden full of fresh vegetables.

These aren’t necessarily places I would have chosen as destinations. Yet they became enjoyable stops along the way.
Sometimes the experience is a conversation with a business owner about how they got started. Other times it’s enjoying a glass of locally produced wine, browsing a farm market, or discovering an attraction that wasn’t even on my radar.

Those experiences have shaped the way I travel, and they’re exactly why I’m enthusiastic about RVOvernights and the opportunities its growing network offers.
How Does RVOvernights Work?
Getting started is straightforward.
Find a host. Use the RVOvernights website or app to search for participating businesses along your planned route. Filter locations by RV length, pet policies, available hookups, generator restrictions, and other preferences.
Request your stay. Select a location, review its requirements, and submit an overnight stay request. Your host must approve the request before you arrive.
Enjoy your visit. Once you’ve arrived, follow the host’s guidelines, explore what the business offers, and enjoy your overnight stop.
Support your host. Rather than paying a standard nightly camping fee, you’re encouraged to make a purchase from the business. RVOvernights recommends spending at least $30 per visit, although this is a recommendation rather than a requirement.

For me, that last part is important. If I’m going to spend money during my travels anyway, I’d rather see some of it go directly to the local businesses welcoming RVers onto their property.

Membership includes unlimited overnight stay requests at participating locations, subject to host approval. There are no standard nightly camping fees, although some hosts may charge for optional services such as electrical hookups.
The company also offers a lifetime renewal price lock. Under its current membership offer, the standard $49.99 annual renewal rate remains locked as long as the membership stays active.
New memberships are backed by a 90-day money-back guarantee, subject to the program’s terms.
But the membership offers considerably more than overnight parking.
RVOvernights Membership Benefits
One of the things I appreciate about RVOvernights is the number of additional resources included with the membership. These aren’t just extras for finding a place to stay. Many can be useful throughout your travels.

Unlimited Overnight Stays
Members can request as many overnight stays as they like at participating host locations throughout the year, with each stay subject to approval. Some hosts also allow additional nights, and their listings indicate whether this option is available.
Advanced Trip Planning and Search Tools
The RVOvernights app and website include more than 30 search filters, allowing you to narrow locations by RV length, hookups, pets, generator policies, parking surfaces, and more.
You can also search along your route, save locations, view photographs of individual parking spaces, and check typical host response times.
77,000+ RV Travel Resources
In addition to overnight hosts, the platform provides access to thousands of useful RV resources, including dump stations, propane suppliers, repair facilities, towing services, campgrounds, and other travel essentials.
Interactive Maps and Travel Information
The platform incorporates multiple map layers, including weather, cellular coverage, wildfire information, and public-land boundaries. Google Street View is also available where supported, making it easier to preview roads and approaches before arriving with your RV.
Stay Scout Host Requests
Here’s an interesting feature. If you’re traveling through an area without a participating host, you can submit a Stay Scout request.
The RVOvernights team uses these requests to identify and recruit potential businesses in areas where members want to travel. While it doesn’t guarantee an immediate overnight location, it gives members a voice in where the network grows next.
Member-Exclusive Discounts
RVOvernights advertises more than $10,000 in potential discounts and offers from over 70 partner brands.
Discount categories include:
- Campgrounds and travel-planning services
- RV parts, upgrades, and accessories
- Batteries, solar, and other energy products
- Internet connectivity and technology
- Safety equipment and roadside assistance
- Outdoor recreation and camping accessories
- Pet products and services
- Insurance, wellness, and lifestyle products
Participating brands include companies such as Lippert, Passport America, Adventure Genie, Coach-Net, and others.
The actual savings depend on which offers you use, but it’s another benefit worth exploring before making purchases for your RV.
Pet-Friendly and Big-Rig Options
Many participating hosts accommodate pets and larger RVs. Search filters help identify appropriate locations before making a stay request.
Some hosts also offer electrical hookups, water, or additional nights, depending on their facilities and policies.
Host Marketplace
At participating locations, marketplace features may allow members to reserve or purchase host products and experiences in advance.
Real Customer Support
RVOvernights provides phone and text support from actual team members. I appreciate being able to contact a person when questions arise, particularly when traveling.
Earn Rewards Just for Using Your Membership
The RVOvernights Rewards Program allows members to earn points for overnight stays, reviews, photographs, renewals, and qualifying referrals.
Here’s how it works:
| Activity | Points Earned |
|---|---|
| Complete an overnight stay | 100 |
| Leave a review | 50 |
| Add photographs to your review | 50 |
| Annual membership renewal | 100 |
| Refer a new paying member | 200 |
Every 100 points equals a 1% discount on a future membership renewal, with a maximum savings of 20% annually.
That means simply staying at a host location, leaving a review, and adding photographs can earn you 200 points toward your next renewal.
Points earned during an eligible membership year are automatically applied to the next renewal, subject to the program rules. Note: Points do not roll over indefinitely.
And there’s another incentive. The top 100 points earners on the annual RVOvernights leaderboard receive a complimentary membership for the following year.
As someone who enjoys documenting my travels and sharing experiences with other RVers, I appreciate a program that rewards members for contributing information that helps fellow travelers.
Is RVOvernights Worth It?
That depends on how you travel.
If you frequently travel between destinations and enjoy discovering interesting places along the way, I think this type of membership can be a worthwhile addition to your RV travel resources.
It’s particularly appealing if you enjoy supporting local businesses and prefer experiences that take you a little farther off the beaten path.
But not every overnight stop needs to be a destination in itself. I’ve spent nights in church parking areas, at golf courses, and outside local businesses where the biggest attraction was simply having a convenient, welcoming place to park. Those stops may not be glamorous, but when you’re traveling from one destination to another, they’re every bit as valuable as a night overlooking a vineyard.

Of course, traditional campgrounds and RV parks offer advantages of their own, especially when you want full hookups, additional amenities, or a place to settle in for several days.

I use different types of overnight accommodations depending on where I’m traveling and what I need at the time. RVOvernights offers another option, particularly for those one-night stops between destinations.
And while the membership is affordable, remember that supporting your host is part of the experience. The value isn’t simply in finding inexpensive overnight parking. It’s also in what you discover along the way.
A Few Tips Before You Go
A little advance planning can make your overnight experience more enjoyable.
- Check RV size restrictions. Not every location can accommodate larger motorhomes or long RV-and-tow-vehicle combinations.
- Review the host’s guidelines. Generator use, pets, arrival times, and available services vary.
- Plan to be self-contained. Your RV needs its own sleeping, bathroom, and cooking facilities. Don’t assume hookups will be available.
- Make time for your host. Whenever possible, arrive early enough to enjoy what the business offers rather than simply parking and leaving.
- Leave a good impression. Respect the property, clean up after yourself, and remember that these businesses are extending their hospitality to travelers.
Final Thoughts
One of the things I’ve discovered since becoming a full-time RVer is that the journey between destinations can be just as memorable as the destinations themselves.
Some of my favorite travel memories have come from unexpected places, meeting interesting people, and discovering businesses I wouldn’t have found if I’d stayed on the interstate.
That’s why I appreciate the concept behind RVOvernights and why I’m interested in supporting its continued growth.

It’s not simply about finding somewhere to spend the night. It’s about giving small businesses an opportunity to share what makes their corner of the world special.
And sometimes, that’s where the best travel stories begin.
